About The Seminar

Is it time to challenge the conventional approach to assessing and treating Diastasis Rectus Abdominis (DRA)? While well-intentioned, the prevailing rationale for DRA rehab is often restrictive and may not adequately utilize tissue adaptation and progressive overload principles.

Join Antony Lo, Teresa Waser, and Terri Robertson Elder for a seminar that will challenge the status quo and help bridge the gap to an updated understanding of DRA.

We will review diastasis research and anatomical considerations, explain and demonstrate novel concepts such as “hard vs soft doming”, and discuss how to monitor and progressively load people with DRA during exercise.

We will also cover DRA repair considerations and the psychosocial aspects that interweave these phases.

This seminar provides key concepts and a framework that can be immediately implemented in clinical or athletic settings to DRA and beyond, bringing hope and empowerment to many people, especially those in the postpartum population.

If you’ve ever wanted more than transverse abdominis activation and low-level exercises, this seminar is for you!

Course Objectives

  • Utilize the current research on Diastasis Rectus Abdominis to inform an updated approach to the assessment and management of DRA
  • Evaluate common presentations of DRA and consider their implications for diastasis rehabilitation.
  • Integrate novel concepts within a biopsychosocial approach to working with people with DRA
  • Develop a systematic process to identify an appropriate level of exercise for people with DRA, including post-DRA repair / Abdominoplasty
Apply what you've learned in practice

This seminar provides a new framework and challenges us to find an appropriate level of exercise demand to drive adaptive change in abdominal tissues, as well as provide FUN, engagement, and empowerment to those with DRA.
